Arcteq
Arc Flash Protection Devices and EquipmentArcteq
10 years later they at the very forefront of Arc Flash detection, protection and mitigation. Joint collaborations with Siemens and also badged by a number of other blue-chip switchgear OEM’s.
Now available here in the UK, offering outstanding performances, ie an AF relay with a 2ms trip trigger, a quencher that can not only isolate a fault within 4ms, saving any extensive damage and protecting lives, but then immediately re-settable to continue services once fault area is either cleared or isolated from the rest of the electrical system or infrastructure.
Products we supply exclusively to the UK and Ireland include:
• AQ100 series which can operate on any combination of light/pressure/overload
One of our many relay ranges include the recently launched:-AQ103
AQ-103LV Arc Flash Protection
AQ-103LV is a sophisticated microprocessor-based arc flash protection unit for arc light detection. AQ-103LV acts as a sub-unit to AQ-110PLV (or, AQ-110FLV) in an AQ-100 arc protection system. It can also function as a stand-alone unit in light-only systems. AQ-103LV is designed to minimize the damage caused by an arcing fault (arc flash) by tripping the circuit breaker that sources the fault current.
The complete system self-supervision function of AQ-103LV provides the highest level of dependability by continuously monitoring all internal system functions as well as with external connections. AQ-103LV provides communication through RS-485 and Modbus protocol as ordering options.
Features:
A wide range for the power supply (18…72 V DC or 92…265 V AC/DC)
A maximum of 14 arc light point sensors (1 point sensor per channel)
A maximum of 1 fiber loop sensor or connection to quenching device (optional)
- 4 trip relays
- 1 system failure relay
- 1 fast binary output
- 2 fast binary inputs
- 1 high-speed output (HSO)
- 1 multifunction push button
- Non-volatile memory
- 25 indication LEDs
- Modbus protocol (optional)
SIQuench 3AM4143
SIQuench 3AM4143 is an arc quenching device which extinguishes arcing faults within 5 ms of arc initiation.
The device is installed as a part of an AQ 100 arc protection system. When an AQ 100 series unit detects an arc fault, it simultaneously triggers the SIQuench arc quenching system and trips the circuit breaker(s) feeding the fault. Then the SIQuench unit creates a low-impedance parallel path for the fault current to flow through. The total arcing time is less than 5 milliseconds, which mitigates the risk of personal injuries and of damages to equipment.
Features:
• Auxiliary supply ranges from 110 to 250 V AC/DC.
• Includes the controller (trigger device) and connection cables.
• Additional connection fibers (3 m, 5 m & 10 m) available.
• Applicable to both new and retrofit installations.
AQ-1000 ARC QUENCHING DEVICE (LOW-VOLTAGE)
The AQ-1000 arc quenching device extinguishes arcing faults in systems with a rated voltage of under 690 V. The AQ-1000 arc quenching system is designed to limit the total arcing time to 5 ms and to minimize (or even eliminate) the damaging effects caused by the arc fault’s temperature and pressure. In most applications this will result in an energy release of less than 1 cal/cm². AQ-1000 is fully reusable which allows for full system testing on site.
AQ-1000 is used in conjunction with the AQ-100 arc protection system. When an AQ-100 series unit detects a fault, it triggers the AQ-1000 arc quenching system and, at the same time, trips the circuit breaker(s) feeding the fault.
Then AQ-1000 creates a low-impedance parallel path for the fault current to flow through, thus extinguishing the arc fault. The total arcing time is less than 5 milliseconds.
